Be a Gateway Star
This is your chance to shine! Ambassadors compete by showing off their enthusiasm about Gateway and technical education, their leadership skills, public speaking skills, and positive attitude. The Star Ambassador program is an opportunity to represent Gateway on campus, in the community, and around the state.
Interested students need to complete an application and obtain faculty/staff endorsement. Students need to be prepared to compete in the Star Ambassador Competition by giving a short presentation to a panel of three judges.[Click for presentation guidelines]
In order to apply students must be enrolled in a technical diploma or associate degree program and have completed at least one semester at Gateway.
One winner is selected from Kenosha, Racine, and Elkhorn as the campus Star Ambassador. Each of the three campus Ambassadors are in the running for and one winner is selected as the district Star Ambassador.
All nominated students serve as Gateway ambassadors and represent the college throughout the year. Each of the campus Star Ambassador winners are awarded a $250 Gateway Foundation Scholarship to use toward their continued education at Gateway. The district Star Ambassador has the opportunity to attend the State Ambassador Leadership Conference.
