Health Unit Coordinator

Health care careers are HOT!  One of the terrific things about this field is that there are so many options.  Some requiring patient contact and some that provide extremely useful support functions.  The Health Unit Coordinator technical diploma program at Gateway Technical College prepares students to function in hospitals and other care institutions as receptionists and health unit coordinators.  These individuals might prepare medical records for new patients, input health care data, maintain patient charts and perform other non-clinical tasks relating to patient admission and discharge.  The program includes general education, typing, medical terminology, clerk functions, and clinical experience.  The graduate is prepared to take the National Health Unit Coordinator certification exam.

ATTENTION: The Petition Process will be required for HUC I, HUC II, and HUC Clinical. Petitions for Fall 2012 core classes can be accessed on this site between February 15 - 29, 2012.
