The accelerated Supervisory Management program’s coursework is designed for people who want to gain managerial skills fast so that they can maximize their career opportunities, and for existing managers who want to polish their current skill set. The program’s curriculum provides a blend of the human relations and management development disciplines with the goal of helping students better understand how to attain organizational objectives through the positive motivation of employees.

This Gateway associate degree prepares the individual to move up to a position as manager, supervisor, lead, management trainee, or management assistant. The full program, taught at the Racine or Elkhorn campuses, offers a perfect blend of classical and human relations skills for the contemporary manager. The training in these two business management areas enables a supervisor to better understand how to motivate employees to deal with the many challenges of achieving organizational objectives.

Two professional certificates will be earned as the student completes coursework toward the degree. The first certificate is Supervisory and Business Management, a 10-credit certificate in which the student will learn how to be successful in an Accelerated Learning (196-100) environment, and in addition, students will also earn nine additional credits worth of skills in Leadership Development (196-190), Supervision (196-191), and Human Resource Management (196-193). The second certificate is 15 credits called Intermediate Supervisory Management where students gain valuable computer skills in Windows Operating Systems (103-109), MS Word (103-112), and MS PowerPoint (103-110). The remaining twelve credits in the intermediate certificate offers students the opportunity to gain Personal Skills for Supervisors (196-164) such as time management, stress management, and assertive behavior skills. Legal Issues for Supervisors (196-134), Team Building and Problem Solving (196-189), and Managing for Quality (196-192) round out the final nine credits of the second certificate.

The accelerated Supervisory Management program is a must for the busy, work experienced adult who wants to learn the skills necessary to be a contemporary leader.
