Certified Logistics Assistant The Manufacturing Skills Standards Council – MSSC – has
developed an industry-driven training and assessment program that addresses the
core competencies of higher skilled, front-line material handling workers
(entry-level to first line of supervision) across the supply chain: from
factories, to warehouses, to distribution centers to transporters. Participants
attend 20 hours of training for the foundational-level Certified Logistics
Associate (CLA) certificate which includes global supply chain logistics life
cycle, material handling equipment, safety principles, quality control,
teamwork, mathematical reasoning, and adaptability to change. The training is followed
by an assessment which leads to a national credential – MSSC Certified
Logistics Associate (CLA). Dates and location: Classes will be held from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm March
4- April 1, 2010 at the Center for Bioscience & Information
Technology on the Kenosha Campus. Excel I will be held on April 8 (required for course completion),
and the CLA Assessment will be given on April 15 from 8:00 am - 10:00 am. For more information go to the KABA training page.
