Gateway Technical College Services Identifying Your Skill Set Career Counseling - The career counseling process stresses personal assessment of interests through interest inventories, values clarification, and goal setting. Information about educational and training opportunities, including Gateway programs and support services, is provided. Training Options Smart Career Restart Training - THERE ARE NO SMART CAREER RESTART PROGRAMS SCHEDULED AT THIS TIME. Skills Workshops – Innovative workshops are offered in a variety of disciplines to upgrade your skills. These non-credit workshops are designed to improve capabilities through job-related training and professional growth opportunities. There is a fee for these workshops. Academic program referral – with over 150 degree and certificate programs, we can assist you with upgrading your skills, or re-tooling for new career options. Academic development resources - General Educational Development Certificate (GED®) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED), Adult Basic Education and English Language Learner services are available in the Adult Learning Centers. Paying for Training Workforce Investment Act (TAA and TRA) and American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Funding – funding is available through the workforce development centers for those who qualify. Finding a Job or Starting a Business Student Employment Services - Assistance and resources are available to help students with job-seeking skills and strategies, resume development as well as interviewing techniques. This office is also the contact point for local, state-wide, and nation-wide employers wanting to hire our student/graduate population. Access to the regional Résumé Matrix and the Wisconsin Technical College TechConnect job search engines are available. Business Development Services are available for those individuals who may be interested in learning how to start their own business. Data collection, survey, project, research and consultation services are available to assist with business development.

Financial Aid - Financial aid is financial assistance to help students of any age meet their educational costs. Gateway Technical College uses the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine if a student is eligible for federal grants, student and parent loans, work-study, and state grants. Approximately 95% of students who apply for financial aid receive some sort of assistance. There are three major types of aid available to Gateway students. They include:
