International Center for Eng Tech
No matter how it's said... Welcome to the International Center for Engineering Technology! The International Center for Engineering Technology (ICET) is dedicated to the development and RISE of multilingual engineering techs, international cooperation in Engineering technical education, and assistance in engineering technologies across multilingual cultures. We are living in exponential times. Please click on and watch the powerful "Did You Know II" presentation. It lays out the challenges we face together as we progress in these difficult times. (It may take a few minutes to load). ICET is dedicated to finding new and effective ways of training our next generation of engineering techs and supporting local businesses, preparing them for the challenges that they will face ... even though we may not know what those challenges are ... challenges faced by a multicultural, multilingual international business climate. Together we will learn, we will grow, and we will succeed at developing the best engineering tech for businesses in SE Wisconsin to compete locally, nationally, and internationally. In challenging times, some of the greatest successes are achieved! We are here to help engineer that success. If you are a business who employs multilingual workers in engineering or construction --- or a multilingual person who is interested in developing your engineering tech skills in order to find a good job, please consider joining our ICET family by contacting either co-director listed below. ICET ACTIVITIES ETW-ESL/ABE Support Classes These career pathway support classes are being offered for those individuals who are in ESL or ABE programs -- support to transition into various programs in the Engineering Tech Wing. These classes will meet 3 times a week prior to the start of the program classes. The intent of these classes is to help with the language and basic skills transitions so that the students can RISE above the traditional roadblocks to succeeding in these professions. Multilingual Engineering Techs ICET will work with companies interested in hiring multilingual engineering technicians. There are many potential benefits to having a multlilingual workforce and specifically multilingual engineering techs. ICET will work with Engineering Tech Wing programs and foreign Engineering institutions to develop exchanges and cooperation efforts. The exposure to foreign methods, different cultures, and joint project interactions will greatly benefit existing ETW students / future employees of businesses in SE Wisconsin. ICET will work with Engineering Tech Wing programs and local businesses to help promote and develop multilingual skills in the local engineering and construction workforce. Advanced learning technologies will be integrated to help promote and develop this technology-philia segment of the workforce. ICET Virtual Reality Seminars ICET will develop ICET-related seminars for students and local businesses in a virtual reality platform called Second Life
