College Credit in High School

GATEWAY AND YOUR HIGH SCHOOL MAY HAVE AN AGREEMENT
Gateway has articulation agreements with most of the area high schools. If your high school has an agreement with Gateway, you could earn college credit.

Advanced Standing Credit - Certain courses taught in your high school may be similar to courses taught at Gateway. If your high school has an agreement and you earn a “B” or better in these courses, you will be granted college credit upon enrolling at Gateway. Submit a “Tech Prep-Student Request for Advanced Standing Credit” form and an official high school transcript with your Gateway application.

Transcripted Credit - An actual Gateway Technical College course, using college textbooks and materials, may be taught at your school. You will earn high school and college credit at the same time.

Youth Options - A statewide program that allows eligible high school juniors and seniors to take college level courses at Gateway and earn credit toward a high school diploma and a college degree at the same time.

Distance Learning - You might also be able to take one of several Gateway courses via interactive TV, the internet, or other technologies.

Advanced Placement Courses - Earn a final grade of “B” or better in the course, or a score of 3 or above on the College Board Advanced Placement Exam and advanced standing credit for an appropriate technical college course will be awarded.

Youth Apprenticeship - If you have completed a youth apprentice ship through the state of Wisconsin, there is a good chance Gateway will be able to give credit if your technical college program is similar.
