Center for Bioscience and Information Technology
The Center for Bioscience and Information Technology is a community building that houses state-of-the art science and information technology labs in addition to an Assessment Center offering more than 200 business-related skills assessments. This 30,000 square foot, two-story Center hosts several computer classrooms/labs on the first floor along with an Executive Training Room which accommodates 40 people, and a Conference Room for 12 people. The second floor is home to state-of-the art laboratory equipment used to support Gateway's nursing and health-related program students. This Wi-fi facility is equipped with seven computer workstations for community use and has three rooms that support videoconferencing. The Bioscience atrium is home to Cafe 91.1, a full-service coffee house featuring coffee, lattes and cappuccinos along with muffins, bagels and scones, and a variety of freshly-made sandwiches and soups. Cafe 91.1 is operated by On-Tray Catering, a Division of the Kenosha Achievement Center, a Kenosha-based non-profit that helps developmentally disabled individuals. Cafe 91.1 is open Mon-Fri at 7 a.m., and Saturdays starting at 8 a.m. Contact Café 91.1 directly at 262-564-3664 for current menu and pricing information. Also housed at the Bioscience Center is WGTD 91.1 FM, News and Classical Music on Your Gateway to Public Radio. WGTD, owned and operated by Gateway Technical College and affiliated with Wisconsin Public Radio and National Public Radio, provides an enlightening combination of in-depth news and cultural programming.
