Advanced Technology Centers

Gateway Technical College is committed to serving employers through unique partnerships, both private and public, to enhance economic development in southeastern Wisconsin. The goals of Gateway's three Advanced Technology Centers for the business community include:

  • Offering quality knowledge transfer programs that enhance workforce skills
  • Collaborating on economic development through active partnerships
  • Participating as a team member to promote the economic well-being of our community
  • Serving as a technology leader to positively influence the economy

LakeView Advanced Technology Center (LATC)

Lakeview is home to Kenosha Unified’s LakeView Technology Academy, a 9th through 12th grade academy which focuses on Automated Manufacturing, engineering, and information technology. High school students earn technical college credit and have opportunities for youth apprenticeships. Gateway Technical College offers non-traditional credit and con-credit courses at LATC in the afternoon and evening. Certificate and degree programs in Automated Manufacturing, computer aided drafting, programming for manufacturing and plastics processing are offered exclusively at LATC. Corporate partnerships provide state-of-the art equipment in the manufacturing lab.

Center for Advanced Technology and Innovation (CATI)

CATI was formed to promote business development, workforce development, and technology innovation in southeast Wisconsin. CATI is a partnership among local and regional educational institutions, business development organizations, and local industries. This partnership allows CATI to bring all of the necessary skills, capabilities, and resources to develop new products, services, and businesses, while simultaneously creating the future technology workforce. CATI is engaged in a three-pronged approach including business incubation, technology transfer and integrated educational programming.

Center for Bioscience and Information Technology

The Bioscience Center is the source of knowledge related to the biomedical/pharmaceutical production industry and the leading edge center for the integration of computer technology with telecommunications technology. It serves as a distributive communications hub for occupation education in the Gateway District, intent on housing learning technology centers with state-of-the-art software and telecommunications/computer engineering technologies, as well as being the regional distribution center for knowledge and research available through technology infrastructure systems.
