September 3rd  - Gateway Student E-mail Gets an Upgrade!

 

Bigger, Better, Faster - Gateway student e-mail powered by Google.  Gateway strives to provide the latest technology to its students and will be launching Gateway Student Email powered by Google (Gmail) on September 3rd.  Students will not only have access to gigabytes of email storage but will be able to utilize the entire suite of Google Apps. 

These improved services will allow students to receive important information from Gateway including financial aid notifications, admissions status notifications, student activities announcements, and communications from instructors.  Note:  As of September 3rd all non-Gateway email addresses that have been entered into Blackboard/WebAdvisor will revert to official Gateway student email addresses.  Students will need to check their Gateway student email for all instructor and college communications.

Additionally, students who currently have a Gateway e-mail account will have until November 9th to access their old e-mail boxes.

What will I get with Google Apps?

  • Gigabytes of email storage.
  • Instant messaging from right within your mailbox & free PC-to-PC voice calls.
  • Google Calendar to schedule meetings, create events, and share calendars with others.
  • Google Docs to create and share documents, spreadsheets and presentations online.
  • Your own personalized Start Page, where you can access all these services.
  • Access to your information from anywhere with an internet connection. You can also access your email with a mobile device.

Student Email Log in

You can find your Gateway email address on your class schedule or by logging into WebAdvisor.  All student email addresses are XXX@mail.gtc.edu.

Logging into Student Email:

1.    You will need your Student ID number and your "My Gateway" password.

2.    Go to http://mail.gtc.edu

3.    Fill in the login screen:

Username:  Enter your Gateway Student ID number

Password:  Enter your "My Gateway" password (same password as Blackboard and WebAdvisor)
