Care Team

Working to create a safe campus community.
The Communication, Awareness, Referral and Evaluation (CARE) Teams are striving to create a safe campus environment by intervening early when students or employees display behaviors of concern. Click to complete a “Maxient Security/Incident Report.

What does the CARE Team do?
The CARE Team contributes to creating a safe campus environment by reducing potential threats through the identification, assessment, and management of behavioral concerns. As incidents of behaviors of concern by students or employees are reported the CARE Team meets to evaluate all reports, assess the situation and create a plan of action including monitoring and assistance. The teams aim to assess behaviors early and intervene as necessary to prevent escalation of the behavior and ensure no future acts of violence.

Who is the CARE Team?
A multidisciplinary CARE Team comprised of student services leadership, counselors, special needs staff, security, human resources and campus deans has been established for each of the Elkhorn, Kenosha and Racine Campuses as well as the Burlington Center.

What are behaviors of concern and how do I report them?

  • Behaviors of concern include any disruptive, disturbing, or destructive behaviors demonstrated by students or employees.
  • Behavior which can be interpreted as a threat to self, others and/or property should be reported immediately by calling 911 and then campus security.

In situations of non-imminent danger, students and employees are strongly encouraged to report behaviors of concern by completing a, “Maxient Security/Incident Report.” Persons completing a report may do so anonymously but are encouraged to identify themselves so that contact can be made if additional information is required. If you observe ANY behavior that causes concern (no matter how small or limited your direct knowledge may be) please complete a, “Maxient Security/Incident Report.” to alert the college.
