Student club to hold free computer clinic of academic year

News Release:

Gateway Technical College’s student chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals will hold it fourth free PC-based computer clinic of this academic year, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Dec. 7 in the Michigan Room of the Racine Building on the Racine Campus, 1001 S. Main St.

Computers can be dropped off until 11 a.m., and then AITP members will diagnose PC computer problems and fix them to the best of their ability. All computers must be picked up by 2 p.m.

Those bringing in computers can either watch the entire troubleshooting process with the student, or drop of the computer and pick it up later. While the event is free, donations are appreciated.

Members will also sell used and restored computers at the event.

There is a two computer limit per person, and attendees should not bring the mouse, keyboard or monitor. Those bringing laptop computers should also bring their own power supply.

Computers will be worked on in a first-come, first-served basis.

The event allows students to give back to the community while honing the skills they will use once they enter their career.
