FastPitch event set again for entrepreneurs

News Release:

Winner of 3-minute pitch to land $5,000 prize

Entrepreneurs, business owners, high school seniors and college students are encouraged to register for the Third Annual Racine/Kenosha FastPitch Competition at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 20 at Gateway Technical College’s SC Johnson integrated Manufacturing and Engineering Technology Center, 2320 Renaissance Blvd., Sturtevant.

This is an opportunity to deliver a three-minute “pitch” about a business or business concept to a group of judges from the business and investment community. Three-judge panels from the business and investment community will evaluate each presentation on the first round, and 10 finalists will advance to the final round. The competition winner will receive $5,000.

While the event will be held in August, the deadline to submit the presentation is July 30, and organizers strongly recommend participants attend a training class either on Aug. 6 or Aug. 7.

For additional information and to register visit www.gtc.edu/fastpitch.

Registrants will be notified by Aug. 1 if selected to present.

Prizes will be provided to second- and third-place finishes, too. The setting offers competitors the chance to refine their business focus, enhance their presentation skills, network with fellow entrepreneurs and connect with potential investors or individuals who can accelerate the realization of their idea or business. Competitors in prior FastPitch events are eligible to enter the Racine/Kenosha event, although prior cash prize winners and student prize winners are not eligible to take the cash prize on Aug. 20th.

FastPitch is sponsored by Gateway Technical College, Eigerlabs, Kenosha Area Business Alliance, the Racine County Economic Development Corporation, the State of Ingenuity and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.
