With Summer Semester registration open and Fall registration coming in April, it is a great time to remind yourselves that academic advisors are available on all Gateway campuses to assist students. Academic advisors are a resource for information and updates about your program, can guide you in planning course schedules to graduate in a timely manner, and are here to help when academic questions or concerns arise.
All new students are encouraged to schedule an in-person appointment with their academic advisor. All new or continuing students who have less than 24 credits earned should be working with their academic advisor.
Academic advisors have been working hard to provide more opportunities to be available to students as well. You may have noticed that a number of walk-in days have taken place over the last couple semesters during peak registration times. Advisors have been in classrooms to present information and answer questions. You even may have noticed the academic advisor for your program is available in the main hallway or building where your classes take place. And of course, academic advisors are continuously connecting with students through their Gateway email accounts and phone calls.
While meeting with students through in-person appointments is the foundation of advising services, academic advisors understand that many students are busy adults and are doing their best to provide a variety of opportunities to connect with students. We encourage you to take advantage of academic advising and all the services Gateway offers to students.
